#LetsTalkLabs - A collaboration to explore laboratory-based research & the difference it makes
February 2025
In 2025, Vocal partnered with research advisory groups BRAG and Voice Up, people from Greater Manchester and researchers on #LetsTalkLabs, an initiative funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility (CRF) to spark more conversations about laboratory-based research and the difference it makes.

Lobular Breast Cancer Research Partnership Day
24 January 2025
On Friday 24th January 2025, thirty lobular breast cancer patients, researchers and health professionals spent the day together in Manchester learning about the latest Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC) research, how a ILC diagnosis can impact patients and getting involved in improving clinical outcomes.
This event was developed by and involved representatives from The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Lobular Breast Cancer UK, Manchester Breast Centre, The Nightingale Centre Wythenshawe Hospital and the University of Manchester.

Based on scientific research by the Prevent Breast Cancer Research Unit at the University of Manchester and teams around the world, Lester reveals the key findings of their studies. This is an enlightening assessment of the multiple factors that contribute to breast cancer risk and an urgent appeal to think differently about the future of prevention research as an absolute priority.
